You should use a softer grade wheel if the material
to be ground is hard.

You should use a fine wheel for good finish.

You should use a Coarse grit to remove more material.

Remember that compact structured grinding wheels
give fine finish though they remove material a bit
slowly.

For a thin work piece use a soft wheel. It will
avoid heating.

wheel will work for Coarser grits but the wheels
will be unworkable in finer grits.
