Nuts and bolts
are very important in today’s life. They keep
things together. As the things they hold together
are different, the bolts are different too. There
is a wide variety of bolts available today.

the bolts are :

with no slots. This can be used with wood. Since
it does not have protruding head it is used when
you do not want a protruding head .

a hex head and is applied with a wrench. The entire
length is threaded and it is used as general utility
bolt

they are useful for outdoor applications

alloy steel. Where high strength and more hardness
is required you can use these tempered and yellow
zinc plated bolts

Grade 5 - These bolts are made of medium
carbon steel. They are zinc plated and are tempered.
They are useful in the areas where higher strength
is required. Best use is for automotives
All the bolts
come with appropriate nuts. Hex or Square Nuts
are the most common nuts. They are available in various
finish and thickness. Generally they have square or
hex shaped head.
Another nut is called Lock Nut. This
nut is available with threaded nylon inserts. This prevents
the bolt from loosening.
Wing Nut can be tightened or loosened
by hand. This comes in handy where you need to remove
or replace material on regular basis. |
