It is that time of the year. It is holiday season
and  everybody is planning to go on a holiday. The
idea of going on a holiday may differ from person
to person some like to go on camping trips some prefer
hiking or some go and visit friends. Now a day many
hotels give a package that takes care of the entire
family. That kind of hotel is called a Resort.
In a hotel your bed and breakfast is taken care of
but the recreational activities are left to you. The
resort takes care of that too. Broadly resorts can
be divided into two categories.

Resort destination is a resort where there are other
places of interests around the resort. May that be
a scenic or some historic site or a theme park.
In the case of a Beach Resort in main focus of activity
is the sea or the beach. Most of the recreational
activities are related to the sea.
When you go to a resort all your needs are taken care
of, that is Food, Drinks, Shopping, Recreational activities
such as some games to play, music etc.
Some of the resorts are called all inclusive resorts.
That means for a fixed price your lodging, boarding
sports activities and entertainment is taken care
of. In some resorts your bed and breakfast is taken
care of but you have to pay for your recreational
activities.
History :
The history of resorts can be traced over 2000 years.
In ancient times Baiae, Italy was a very popular place.
Another place in Italy to attract many guests was
Capri Island near Naples, Italy. Since Roman times
it has attracted visitors.
Monte Ne, Arkansas was yet another resort. In the
early 20th century it was active. At its peak almost
10,000 people use to visit this resort.
In short, in the modern times Resorts as a vacation
spot has become very popular and the competition is
very fierce so you can get a good deal and enjoy your
vacation without any worry.
