When a person or a company wants to develop a Resort there are guidelines one has to follow. In case of Beach Resort proper approval of the Ministry of Environment & Forests is mandatory.

• Nothing can be built within 200 meters from the High Tide line.
• Public access to the beach to be protected.
• No flattening of sand dunes.
• No permanent structure for sports is allowed except goal posts, lamp posts and net posts.
• Permission from the state Ground Water Authority is needed to the effect that the construction of the basement will not adversely affect free flow of ground water in that area.
• The construction should be consistent with the local architectural style and the surrounding landscape.
• Central/state pollution board has laid down some standards you have to follow that. The Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 should be adhered to.
• The treatment of effluents and solid wastes should be treated properly.
• Approval of the tourism Department is mandatory.
