When
a person or a company wants to develop a Resort there
are guidelines one has to follow. In case of Beach Resort
proper approval of the Ministry of Environment &
Forests is mandatory.
- Nothing can be built
within 200 meters from the High Tide line.
- Public access to the
beach to be protected.
- No flattening of sand
dunes.
- No permanent structure
for sports is allowed except goal posts, lamp posts
and net posts.
- Permission from the state
Ground Water Authority is needed to the effect that
the construction of the basement will not adversely
affect free flow of ground water in that area.
- The construction should
be consistent with the local architectural style
and the surrounding landscape.
- Central/state pollution
board has laid down some standards you have to follow
that. The Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 should
be adhered to.
- The treatment of effluents
and solid wastes should be treated properly.
- Approval of the tourism
Department is mandatory.
The international standard (ISO) is the ultimate certification which is desirable.
