Shopping for a saree can be fun for the lady but can be a horrible experience for the man. Here are some tips for making the entire shopping experience very enjoyable.

For men :

• Men should avoid going for saree shopping. If possible go alone to buy a saree for your better half and surprise her
  
• Prepare yourself for criticism for your choice of color, fabric and the price you paid for the saree
  
• Best thing is to give your purse and not to ask questions
  
• You should have loads of patience
  
• Always play along with the better half. Watch her expressions and if asked then give your opinion otherwise observe silence
  
• Always remember it is not a good idea to give your frank opinion about any saree

For women :

• Decide on your budget and ask the shopkeeper to show sarees within your budget
  
• Decide what material you fancy and look for that material
  
• If you do not like anything in one shop go to the next one
  
• Make sure you like the saree before buying it. If you are not sure about the color combination or the feel of the saree look some more
  
• Be absolutely sure that you want that particular saree before you ask the guy to pack it
  
• You should have your husband with you or a credit card.
  
• Once in a while just indulge yourself and shop without any need or reason. It always makes you feel good.
