History:
The city of Valsad is 80 Km. South
of Surat and about 225km. North of Mumbai. It is on 20.38
North latitude & 72.58 East longitude situated on
the left corner. The different interesting information
about Valsad is available from different books which is
mentioned below.
It is difficult to say how the old name is given to the
city, still there are some beliefs which is necessary
to write. There is no mention of Valsad any where before
the year 1300 the glimpses of the city is obtained after
1300 AD.
In old times Valsad was one of the famous port of the
Eight-Four ports in India. The Emperor of Delhi Alaudin
Khilji's commander in chief "Ulagrakhan" had
invaded Gujarat in 1297 and conquered this area . there
might be the rule of "Alaudin" on Valsad at
that time.
After the Taghlakh dynasty in 1401 AD "Jafar Khan"
had established independent state of Gujarat. His grandson
"Sultan Ahmadshah" had given the administration
of Valsad to "Amin Sidri" in 1414 after the
king "Bahadurshah". The deevelopment of Gujarat
was in good condition in 15 Century the trade and commerce
was forwarded in this area so big ships of india were
built in Gujarat. This trade was also in Gujarat.
