Ni Gufa |
| World
renowned painter, Maqbul Fida Husain & his famous
architect, Balkrishna Doshi joined hands to create
the Husain Doshi Gufa, the first underground art
Gallery. Also known as Amdavad Ni Gufa, the gallery attempts
at creating a new and different dimension to viewing art.
As
Husian puts it

the Gufa is

work of Art in the form of installation, where the idea
is to provide the bodily comfort & preserve art in
the form an underground building". |

is a university of distinction to-day. Vitthal Udyognagar,
a nearby township is a centre of many small and medium
industries. Elicon Engineering and Vallabh Glass Industries
are a few of the known houses at Vitthal Udyognagar. The
birth place of Sardar Patel, Karamsad is adjacent to it.

| The
60-acre campus of IRMA is located between the campuses
of the NDDB and Gujarat Agricultural University. Anand
railway station and bus station are opposite to each other
and are about 4 kms away, while the National Highway 8
is about 3 km from the campus. For reaching IRMA campus,
the best mode of transport is an auto-rickshaw. Auto-rickshaws
ply without meters and charge Rs.15 during the day and
Rs.20 during the night, from the Railway Station and Bus
Station. |

Pavagadh Fort
|
| The
hill of Pavagadh rises from Champaner in three stages.
The plateau at an altitude of 1471 feet is known as the
Machi Haveli. Pavagadh is 49 kms from Vadodara,
and is also known as the birthplace of Gujarat's famous
musician, Baiju, who preceded Tansen. |
