Dr. Lalit Shimpi, MD (Med), (DNB) Med, DM (Gastro.), DNB (Gastro.), UCBM (Italy). He is a MBBS graduate of Pune University. Having completed his Post Graduation in General Medicine with a University Gold Medal from Shivaji University, he did his post graduation doctoral D.M Residency in 2002, from SMS Medical College Jaipur, one of the largest tertiary hospitals in the country. After spending 2 years in Mumbai as faculty, Dr Lalit Shimpi underwent hands-on training Fellowship for 6 months in ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) at the CBM University at Rome (Italy) under the guidance of world renowned Endoscopic surgeon Prof. Guido Costamagna. His areas of interest include Therapeutic Pancreatic and Biliary Endoscopy and Palliative care in GI cancers. He has performed more than 750 ERCP’s in the last 5 years of practice.
