ABOUT JOSHI'S MUSEUM OF MINIATURE RAILWAYS

Joshi's Museum of Miniature Railways was established in 1980 and is the outcome of undying passion of Mr. B. S. Joshi who is known as Bhau Joshi. Early from his childhood Mr. Bhau Joshi has great interest in collecting a variety of Train Models. Joshi Museum has a Wide Range of Collections of Train Models from all over World. The latest train Models of most advanced countries are also found here. The Structure of the Museum is very fascinating as it contains network of 1000 Wires, 65 Signals, 26 Points, Fences, Lamp Posts, Flyovers, etc.

Initially, he began this work on layouts thinking that it would be convenient to exhibit in various cities as a circus show. He gave his first layout show in Pune at “Gokhale Hall” in 1982 and gained huge success. Later, in 1984, in Mumbai and in 1986, at Dastur High School, Pune. Then, he decided to construct a permanent house to place his museum of Miniature Railways. The hall was constructed in 1991 and museum was opened to public on 1st April 1998. There were many rail modelers who appreciated this creative effort. The control panel was designed in way that it can be operated manually or computer controlled. It is all the Work of Single Man, Bhau Joshi.
