The college has its roots back in the pre-independence British era during 1907-1908. AFMC (Armed Force Medical College):

FTII (Film and Television Institute of India): 
The famous Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) was established by legend Dadasaheb Phalke offering film making as a subject. It is the only formal institute in India that operates under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting under the Government of India.
