“Pavan Orthopaedic Hospital & Nursing Home” was established by Dr. Dayanidhi Desai and his wife Mrs. Rohini Desai in the year 1982. This establishment is located in Makkaipool in the heart of Surat city. Orthopaedic care in the form of basic and advanced trauma management, spine surgeries and replacement of hip and knee joints were provided here. The hospital is at its pinnacle today because of the incessant and dedicated efforts put in by this couple.

After successful completion of 34 years of Pavan Hospital at Makkaipool, Dr. Dayanidhi & Mrs. Rohini have now started new hospital by the name of “PAVAN ADVANCED ORTHOPAEDIC HOSPITAL” at Vesu, Surat. They are now joined in their endeavors by their son Dr. Pavan D. Desai who has specialized in Arthroscopic procedures and Replacement of Shoulder and Knee. Thus “PAVAN ADVANCED ORTHOPAEDIC HOSPITAL” is committed to providing comprehensive care for all Orthopaedic conditions like Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fractures, Rotator Cuff tears etc. at a reasonable cost.

Dr. Dayanidhi Desai

Dr. Dayanidhi Desai is one of the senior most orthopaedic surgeons in Surat. He is known for his surgical skills in India as well abroad. He is loved and respected not only by his patients but also by his colleagues. His enthusiasm for learning new techniques is well known, so at the age of 50 he did a fellowship in Joint Replacement with Dr. Chitranjan S Ranawat at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York City, USA.

Dr. Pavan D. Desai

Dr. Pavan D. Desai is young dynamic Orthopaedic Surgeon who has specialised in Arthroscopy – key hole surgery with early recovery and better functional outcome. He is trained at some of the best training centers in France, Germany, India and USA. He is passionate about shoulder surgeries – Arthroscopy, Reverse and Total Shoulder Replacement, nerve lesions around the shoulder and sports injuries. With Dr. Chandani Desai he runs a shoulder unit which provides comprehensive treatment that gives better functional outcome. He has been invited as a faculty for various national conferences and has been awarded BEST PAPER in GOACON 2018 for “Floating shoulder injuries – A retrospective study”. During his training period he has been awarded GOLD MEDAL for his research work.
