Research Activities and Achievements :


The extensive studies in the region resulted in discovering of 84 new taxa including 16 fungal species new to science, 4 new genera including two new fungal genera and more than 450 research papers and 27 books. This centre is recognized centre for the research in Plant taxonomy by University of Pune. So far more than 25 research fellows and staff members have been awarded doctoral degree from this regional centre.
