A printing press is a device which is used for printing images and text on paper or other materials such as newsprint. A printing press works by transferring ink from a printing plate to paper or such material. The printing plate is made of metal and has the text or images which are to be printed. Ink is applied to this plate and then the plate is pressed against the paper. This leaves a printed image on the paper. Such a printing press produces thousands of copies of a single page in a short period of time, which makes it an efficient way of producing printed materials.
